Celebrating school psychologists during National School Psychology Week

In honor of National School Psychology Week (NSPW), designated by the National Association of School Psychologists, we join schools across the country to highlight the crucial role of school psychologists in promoting student success.

School psychologists collaborate with families, educators, administrators, and other professionals to cultivate safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that build stronger ties among home, school, and community. Through their expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, school psychologists help students thrive academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally, and play a vital role in school safety and crisis teams.

Each day of the week is an opportunity to celebrate, learn, and engage

Monday: Explore your connections

Reach out to allies and resources that highlight the positive impact of school psychologists in your community.

Tuesday: Pursue new ideas

Align school psychology practices with the NASP Practice Model and discover untapped areas where school psychologists can further support students and staff.

Wednesday: Launch into advocacy

Raise awareness about the critical shortage of school psychologists. Write to representatives, engage your school board, or join NASP's Capitol Hill Day.

Thursday: Boost your strengths

Share knowledge, perspectives, and resources, and promote diversity in the field while reinforcing individual strengths.

Friday: Expand your universe

Reflect on the week and consider ways to recognize the work of school psychologists year-round.
